Ashley Roper has studied singing and vocal pedagogy with teachers around the United States since 2006, to include professors at Southern Methodist University, Texas Woman’s University, Georgia Southern University, and Armstrong State University. She completed her Bachelor of Arts in Music Performance from the latter in 2011. She has one year of Alexander Technique study with AmSAT certified teachers in both California and Dallas, Texas. Currently, Ashley is an active performer and collaborator throughout the southeast region.
Ashley has been an active vocal coach and technician since 2009, specializing in vocal health, the healing of vocal nodules in conjunction with a team of voice specialists, and in helping students to meet their unique goals by developing individualized curricula. Ashley has experience coaching professional and amateur students in classical music (i.e. opera, art song), musical theater, jazz, country and bluegrass, singer/songwriter/folk, pop, R&B, praise and worship, and choral music of varying styles. Ashley’s students are consistently accepted into arts schools, All-State chorus, academic and community theater productions, auditioned choral groups, and many have music careers of their own.
Currently, Ashley is employed as the soprano section leader at St. John’s Episcopal Church in historic downtown Savannah, and she teaches voice full-time in both downtown Savannah and her home studio in Port Wentworth, Georgia.
